Halo: Combat Evolved R2

I was listening to the OXM podcast and they announced a new feature for the Xbox 360. I don't remember what they called it, but when it is updated to the 360, you will be able to purchase original Xbox games and download them to your Xbox 360 for 1400 Microsoft points a piece.

The initial games that were announced were as follows:

Fable
Crimson Skies
Psychonauts
Halo: Combat Evolved

That's all they announced. Now, that brings up a lot of ideas and questions.

1. Will these games be played from the Xbox 360 dashboard, therefore we will be able to play them and talk in a private chat, etc?
2. Will the games be changed in such a way that these games could be, lets say, played online?

What are your thoughts?

(Ahh, nevermind the podcast went on to say the games will not be changed at all--that it's the same as putting the disc into your console. DAMN!)

LOLZ I love that you answered your own questions, it seems these aren't really worth the price, except for psychonauts, so underrated, I loved it. You can basically get the other ones cheaper at the local game store.

Well they mentioned that these games probably aren't in retail except for probably Halo, so if you wanted to get it you could. Also they said that the majority of Xbox 360 owners never owned an original Xbox, so this is a new market for them.

Honestly though, why the hell wouldn't they add multiplayer to it? They would make sooo much money from it..

"Not in retail" doesn't mean shops aren't selling them.

What I mean is that there will always be a second hand store that sells craploads of "last gen" games. I can think of two shops in my town where I could pick up Halo for a fiver.

Although I guess they could be slightly more compatable with the 360 than the originals...

While I'm completely loving the fact that we can finally download Xbox games en masse (also several games were added to the backwards compatibility list) I'm still wondering is the choppiness, glitches, frame rate and overall lack of that "Old School Last Gen" experience worth spending my five dollars on.

I also hate how they neglect to add any achievements, though I recognize they probably can't do this as they would need to change the game itself possibly.

I think it would be, I mean, it's all stored on your hard drive so it should reduce most of the choppiness, and it will upscale it to 720p if your tv supports it.
